Responsibilities:
Reporting to the CEO in the U.S., the Senior Manufacturing Production Planning Analyst
for SolarWorld's USA operations is responsible for managing a high-volume, production supply chain for high-quality photovoltaic crystal growing, wafers, cells and modules. In this position, you will be responsible for managing all phases of strategic supply for internal and external production at multiple production sites both domestically and internationally. You will exercise both management skill and leadership capabilities to meet aggressive growth and cost targets. The position ensures adequate process and partnerships are continuously developed and improved for a highly efficient and functional system.
This is position has one direct report and is largely an individual contributor role.
As a member of a growing team in a start-up environment, you will work with your peers and external partners to develop core processes, practices, applications, and methodologies to enable rapid growth.
Specific deliverables associated with this opportunity include:
� Plans and implements activities related to the timely, cost-effective procurement, inventory control, planning and quality control of production materials through both internal and external supply chain.
� Responsible for developing and maintaining capacity models, including discrete-event simulations.
� Aligns production resources from multiple vendors (internal and external) to ensure flow of materials through the production system. This includes all phases of silicon supply management from raw poly-silicon through solar cells.
� Develop and maintain overall long range planning for capacity including expansions in coordination with Investment planning department. Support within a project function any expansion projects.
� Develops, implements, and maintains policies, procedures, and material control systems to reduce costs, streamline procedures, and implement solutions.
� Ensures the availability of materials in the supply chain, as scheduled, and the maintenance of inventory at minimum acceptable levels.
� Coordinates with finance/accounting on matters involving inventory carrying costs and contract terms.
� Reviews and plans requirements for acceptable inventory.
� Develop with Operations managers the establishment and maintenance of the production control system.
� Provide monthly production plan and forecasting.
� Work with suppliers in auditing inventory levels and quality control.
� Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
� Effectively manage through others and direct projects to effective completion.
� Responsible for establishment of goals, objectives and performance standards assuring timely attainment of set standards. Ensure all work is aligned with company goals, and ensure consistency.
� Work directly with peers at other sites to ensure best practices are maintained, congruent efforts are maintained to meet overall targets and objectives.
� Develop and manage budgets, ensuring proper control and appropriate improvement plans are in place to meet cost targets.
� Coordinate activities with other function using enterprise resource planning systems.
� Support other departments as required to meet company objectives.
� Execute on targets defined in annual personal objectives.
Qualifications:
This position is ideal for a candidate who is enthusiastic about being a "green collar" worker in the solar photovoltaic (PV) industry. Successful candidates should demonstrate a desire for personal development, communicate easily, enjoy working in a team environment and be highly flexible. The successful candidate will possess the following combination of education and experience:
� Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in industrial engineering, manufacturing technology or related applied science discipline, or related business discipline. An advanced degree in a related field (e.g., MBA) is preferred.
� Advanced functional expertise in a high-tech. high volume manufacturing environment is required, as evidenced by 6+ years of related experience as a Supply chain manager or related job role.
� Demonstrated ability to independently manage details of a global supply chain.
� Proven ability to make independent decisions with major impacts to supply Chain and P&L.
� Proficient in Microsoft Office productivity tools such as Word, Excel and Power Point as well as ERP systems. Additional preference for knowledge and use of project management software, SPC and simulation systems.
� Must possess excellent written and verbal communications skills.
� Must demonstrate effective leadership (e.g., people management) skills for managing a function including team building, performance management, personnel development and coaching.
� Demonstrated ability to achieve objectives by working in and with cross-functional and multi-cultural teams.
� Preference for entrepreneurial drive and prior experience with startup companies or new business division launches.
Must possess a valid passport and ability to travel domestically and internationally as required up to 50%.
